Lemosho Route 8 Days Kilimanjaro Climbing, the Lemosho is a premium route for Kilimanjaro climb and trek provided from 6 to 8 days. Climbing through different climate zones it starts on heaths and winds further across alpine meadows to ascend to the arctic zone near Uhuru Peak. The descent, in turn, passes through rainforest. All this makes this route the most scenic on Kilimanjaro. Lemosho offers the smoothest acclimatization and the highest success rates of 85%, 90% and 95% for 6, 7 and 8-day tours, respectively. The total distance covered on Lemosho Route is 46 km (28.5 miles). Tanzania Magic Tours recommends this trail for those ready to pay a bit extra for high-altitude drop off by a vehicle.

DAY 01 – Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport then drive to ARUSHA
Met by Great view adventure representative and greet at Kilimanjaro Airport on time of your flight arrival by our transfer driver who will escort you to the waiting vehicle for loading your luggage then drive you to arusha planet Lodge. After checking in the hotel you will get briefing about your next day trek then your mountain guide will check your gears. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing at the pool or exploring the town of Arusha.
DAY TWO 02: LEMOSHO ROUTE 8 DAYS – ARUSHA (1400m) – LONDROSI GATE (2100m) – Forest camp (2750m)

After eating breakfast at your hotel, your guide will brief you on the day. You will drive two hours from Arusha (1400m) to Londorossi Park Gate (2100m). In the village near Londorossi where you will complete entry formalities. Then drive to the Lemosho trailhead (another hour to reach the trailhead). Upon arrival at trailhead, we eat lunch, then commence through undisturbed forest which winds to the first camp site. MTI MKUBWA CAMPSITE
DAY THREE 03: LEMOSHO ROUTE 8 days – FOREST CAMP (2750m) – SHIRA 1 CAMP (3540m)

We continue on the trail leading out of the forest and into a savannah of tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rock draped with lichen beards. As we ascend through the lush rolling hills and cross several streams, we reach the Shira Ridge before dropping gently down to Shira 1 camp. DAY FOUR 04 LEMOSHO ROUTE 8 days – SHIRA 1 (3540m) – SHIRA 2 (3840m)- Moir Hut (4114

This spectacular camp we will be going to today is located beneath the Northern Ice Fields of Kilimanjaro. It is a gentle walk east toward Kibo’s glaciered peak, across the plateau which leads to Shira 2 camp on moorland meadows by a stream. Then we continue to Moir Hut, a little used site on the base of Lent Hills. A variety of walks are available on Lent Hills making this an excellent acclimatization opportunity. DAY FIVE 05 HIKE FROM 3,900 METRE SHIRA CAMP 2 to 4,640 metre LAVA TOWER to 3,960 metre BARANCO CAMP
Today you have a long journey ahead. After breakfast, set off for the Lava Tower, which is 4640 meters above sea level? Here you make a stop to get used to the height of your body before you descend to the Barranco Camp. This method allows your body to get used to altitude and allows you to gauge how differently your body reacts to altitude. The landscape of the Barranco Valley is dominated by huge senecias and smaller lobelia. After 6-7 hours you will arrive at the Barranco Camp, from where you have a wonderful view of the snow-capped mountains. They spend the night in tents.

DAY SIX 06 HKE FROM 3,960 metre BARRANCO CAMP to 4,035 metre KARANGA CAMP
The so-called Barranco Wall is the steepest section of the trekking route. In some places you need your hands to hold on and pull up. Your guide is of course always at your side. After reaching Kissing Rock, the route continues along the ridge and through the Karanga Valley. After 3-4 hours you reach the Karanga camp at 4035m, where you have dinner and then spend the night in tents.

DAY SEVEN 07 HIKE FROM 4,035 metre KARANGA CAMP to 4,640 metre BARAFU CAMP
Your destination today is the Barafu Camp at 4640m. The landscape is very barren and dry and it cracks with every step, as if you walk on glass. As you traverse the alpine desert and the barafu camp comes closer, your joy of having it soon increases. From the camp you have a fantastic view over the Mawenzi and the track that will take you to the summit. They eat early in the evening and discuss tomorrow’s final stage.

DAY EIGHT 08 HIKE FROM 4,640 metre BARAFU CAMP to 5,895 metre UHURU PEAK THEN HIKE DOWN to 3,080 metre MWEKA CAMP
At midnight you wake up and after drinking your warming tea or coffee and fortifying yourself with biscuits, you’re ready for today’s all-important ascension. Your first destination is Stella Point, which you reach after 5-7 hours. There you can take a short break before you ascend another 1-2 hours to Uhruru Peak. This route takes you along the edge of the crater for a while. As soon as you reach the highest point of Africa you will be able to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view. You have enough time to shoot some souvenir photos before you start the way back. At Barafu Camp you can relax and then continue to Mweka Camp.

DAY NINE 09 FINAL HIKE FROM 3,080 metre MWEKA GATE to 1,630 metre MWEKA GATE TO ARUSHA
