If you want to see the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and also visit the best national parks in northern Tanzania, this is the perfect itinerary for you. The focus during this trip will be on the western part of the Serengeti, where the Great Migration cross the Grumeti River from May to July. The herds of wildebeest en zebra must outsmart the huge Nile crocodiles and fast flowing water before facing predators waiting on the other side. An amazing spectacle.

Day 1: Arrival – Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be met by our Great view adventure driver and transfer to your accommodation in Arusha town, At ARUSHA PLANET LODGE where you will be briefed for whole Safari schedule the next day.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart with picnic-lunch to Tarangire National Park, Tanzania third largest National Park and enjoy the day with Game Drives. The National Park is known for its spectacular baobab trees and its large elephant population. During dry season the Tarangire River becomes a magnet for thirsty wildlife. In the afternoon continue to your camp and enjoy a guided Bush Walk to explore the Manyara-Tarangire Ecosystem.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast you go on a walking tour in farming town Mto wa Mbu. This village is unique in Tanzania since it is home to over 120 different tribes from across Africa and forms a colourful mix of customs. Your walking guide will take you to rice and banana plantations, a local beer factory, a school and a carving factory. Discover the traditional way of life of the villagers. Continue to Lake Manyara National park, which is only a few minutes’ drive from Mto wa Mbu. Lake Manyara is known for its huge soda lake filled with pink-hued flamingos, large population of baboons, incredible birdlife and breathtaking views. You can see giraffes, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, flamingos and if you are lucky you spot a tree-climbing lion. Day 4: LAKE MANYARA NATIONA PARK to Serengeti National Park (west)
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park through Ngorongoro conservation area (driving time some 5 hours, but with plenty to see on the way!) En route you will see grazing zebras, antelopes and giraffes and sometimes some buffalos hiding in the bush. You will visit a Maasai Boma (traditional village) where some Maasai Warriors will welcome you, show you around and explain their traditional life. They will also show you their famous jumping dance and invite you to join in if you like!
You can also see inside houses, meet children, ask questions and take photos!
After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive in the afternoon. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species.
Tonight and the following night you spend in a comfortable tented camp at the edge of the famous Serengeti, with views over the endless savannah with some animals and typically African acacia trees. Enjoy some relaxing hours at the camp fire under open sky after dinner, chatting with other guests and the charismatic security guards.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park (west)
Rise up early, so that you can depart your lodge for a full day moving with the herds across the plains exploring the Great Migration. An impressive experience to see all those hoofed mammals, followed by predators, migrate in a clockwise circle every year. If you want to spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo) all in one park, the Serengeti is the places to be. Return back to KIRAWIRA MBUGANI CAMP for dinner and overnight. Day 6: Serengeti National Park (central)
After breakfast you depart for a game drive in the central part of the Serengeti. This part is famous for the abundance of lions and leopards that can usually be seen quite easily. Game viewing in this central area is spectacular all year round. Enjoy the views of endless plains and stunning wildlife like cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, hippos, ostrich, pangolin and many more. Dinner and overnight will be at Serengeti Acacia camp. Day 7: SERENGETI NATIONA PARK TO Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast with your picnic lunch Drive to Ngorongoro Crater, you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Around late noon you will drive out of Crater to KARATU AT TLOMA LODGE for DINNER and Overnight
DAY 8: DEPATURE
After breakfast, you drive to Arusha/Lunch arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for your departure flight. THAT WILL BE THE END OF YOUR SAFARI SCHEDULE.
